Fuji Eterna
Muted saturation and graceful tonal response for quiet, refined scenes.

Cool restraint with gentle color
Color character
The CineLook Fuji Eterna transform leaves exposure almost untouched at +0.05 and pulls contrast back by two points, so an image keeps its own light rather than gaining punch. Highlights are the visible move: at -30 they are held down firmly, and a rolloff of 40 stretches what remains of the brightest values into a long, gradual shoulder, so windows, skies and specular edges lose their hard edge without going gray. Shadows go the other way, lifted 16 points, which opens the low end and lets detail sit in the darks instead of collapsing. Color is cooled by a temperature of -7 with tint at -3, a restrained cast rather than a strong blue. Saturation drops 17 points while vibrance rises 7, so the palette quiets down but weaker colors keep a little life. Grain sits at 12 and bloom at 5: modest texture across the frame and only faint halation around bright edges. No separate color matrix or tone curve is applied.
When to choose it
Subdued, low-key material is where this transform belongs. Quiet, refined scenes play to it: with contrast at -2 and saturation down 17 points, it suits overcast daylight, soft window light, shaded exteriors, fog, and interiors where practicals do the shaping instead of a hard key. The muted palette is not flat color: vibrance still adds seven points of lift, so portraits and interviews where color should sit behind the face stay workable. Scenes with a bright window or a blown sky in frame are also forgiving, since highlights are held at -30. Choose something else when saturated color is the subject, when night exteriors need punch, when a product's color is the point, or when hard sun sets the image; lifted shadows will flatten that light.
Working with it in Studio
The transform is a starting point, not a fixed recipe. Contrast sits at -2 and shadows are lifted 16, so there is little room before the image turns milky; move Exposure, Contrast and Shadows in small steps. Highlights at -30 do most of the protective work, and Highlight Rolloff at 40 decides how gradually the brightest values reach white; test it on skies. Temperature at -7 sets the cool bias; bringing it toward zero warms the scene without losing the muted palette, and Tint handles green or magenta correction. Saturation is the sensitive control: add it in single digits before touching Vibrance, at 7, which can push foliage ahead of faces. Film Grain, Bloom and Vignette stay inside the app; the other sliders, including Highlight Rolloff, travel with a .cube export.
How it compares
Classic 35mm is the louder alternative: contrast +15 against -2, highlights only -20, saturation -7 rather than -17, grain 24 against 12, temperature +8 instead of -7, and a vignette of 13 absent here. Contrast differs by seventeen points; Classic 35mm adds bite and warmth where the CineLook Fuji Eterna transform withholds, and it is the pick for scenes that need visible texture. CineLook Reversal 100D carries no grade offsets; its character is a high-contrast profile with hard highlight response, dense shadows, fine grain and a daylight balance. Choose it when a frame should keep its snap and neutral grays rather than open shadows and cool restraint.
Where it fits in a grade
Fuji Eterna has no film stage attached, so it reads as a standalone creative Look rather than a camera negative, a print stock or a reversal source. That places it late in a pipeline: settle exposure, white balance and any base correction first, then apply it as the closing move, because the gentle highlight hold and opened shadows assume a frame that already carries its own structure. Grade through it rather than stacking another look on top; the muted palette is meant to be the final statement. One simple pairing works: a neutral base underneath, letting the transform supply the color mood. A heavy finishing Look laid over it would undo the restraint.
Transform parameters
Against a neutral starting point the CineLook Fuji Eterna transform moves exposure +0.05, contrast -2, highlights -30, shadows +16, temperature -7, tint -3, saturation -17, vibrance +7, film grain +12, bloom +5 and highlight rolloff +40.
